H.R. No. 1080
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On May 18, 2003, John Rainey Lanham of Houston is
receiving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Les and Lindyl Lanham, this
admirable young man has worked diligently to earn 36 merit badges,
and he has also garnered the Arrow of Light award; in addition, Mr.
Lanham has brought honor to the post of patrol leader and has
attended the junior leader training conference; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Lanham is a fifth-generation Houstonian who has
been involved in his community as a volunteer at Camp Peniel
Christian Youth camp; in his spare time, he enjoys reading about
history and participating in a wide range of outdoor activities,
such as fishing, camping, and hiking; and
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is attained by only a select
handful of young men; through his outstanding effort and
commitment, Mr. Lanham has proven himself to be an exemplary young
Texan worthy to join the ranks of scouting's elite; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby honor John Rainey Lanham on his receipt of the
rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him warmest best wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Lanham as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
