R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Alford has deservedly been named the
Spring Branch Independent School District (ISD) 2003 Elementary
Teacher of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Alford is a fifth-grade language arts and social
studies teacher at Edgewood Elementary School, and throughout her
seven years with the district, her classroom demeanor has been
characterized by an infectious enthusiasm, particularly with
regard to United States history; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Spring Branch ISD herself, Ms. Alford
pursued her higher education at Texas A&M University, attaining her
bachelor of science degree from that institution before returning
home to teach; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary educator has set professional
standards to which all in her field can aspire, and her love of
teaching has opened up countless young minds to the joys of
learning; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Alford on her selection
as the 2003 Elementary Teacher of the Year for the Spring Branch
Independent School District and extend to her sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Alford as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
