R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On April 26, 2003, Robert Springer and the former Tricia Brugger were united in matrimony at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston, and this joyful event marked the beginning of a union filled with limitless possibilities; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Brugger and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Bard, Mrs. Springer graduated in 1998 from Stratford High School in Houston and in 2002 from Baylor University, where she received a bachelor's degree in nursing and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority; she is now employed as a neonatal intensive care nurse at St. David's Hospital in Austin; and WHEREAS, The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Springer, and he graduated from Elsik High School in Houston in 1997; he went on to earn a bachelor's degree in recreational management from Southwest Texas State University in 2001 and was president of Kappa Alpha fraternity; he now works in the community services division of the Lower Colorado River Authority in Austin; and WHEREAS, After their nuptials, these high school sweethearts, who met as part of a youth group at the church where they were wed, celebrated their marriage at a reception in the ballroom of the Lakeside Country Club, where their family and friends enjoyed a dinner buffet and danced to the music of Rockin Robin; the couple honeymooned in Hawaii and will make their home in Austin; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Springer have nurtured a relationship built on love, respect, and devotion to one another, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring them as they embark on their journey together as husband and wife; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Tricia Springer on their recent marriage and extend to them sincere best wishes for much happiness in the years to come; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Springers as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
