H.R. No. 1085



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Karen Calvert of Austin celebrated her 50th birthday 
on April 28, 2003, and this auspicious occasion provides a fitting 
opportunity to recognize her many accomplishments; and
	WHEREAS, A kindergarten teacher in the Eanes Independent 
School District for more than 20 years, Ms. Calvert has 
demonstrated an abiding commitment to education and, as a result of 
her vast experience with children, she has also officially 
developed eyes in the back of her head; and
	WHEREAS, The exceptional commitment of this esteemed woman 
has been a source of inspiration to many people, and she received 
well-deserved acclaim when she was named Barton Creek Elementary 
School Teacher of the Year; and
	WHEREAS, Guided by a kind and gentle spirit, Ms. Calvert has 
ably handled countless runny noses, wiped away innumerable tears, 
and taught generations of young Texans how to "kiss your brain"; 
this patient woman nurtures, comforts, and inspires, all while 
building a firm educational foundation in her young students; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Karen Calvert for her continued service 
to the youth of Texas on the joyous occasion of her 50th birthday 
and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Calvert as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
