R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The silver insignia of the Eagle Scout was conferred
on Daniel Herrmann at his Court of Honor ceremony on April 12, 2003;
and
WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is a significant
accomplishment achieved by only a fraction of those who enter the
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
criteria, Mr. Herrmann earned 21 merit badges and successfully
completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his scouting career, Mr. Herrmann has
demonstrated outstanding leadership ability, and his efforts have
won the admiration and respect of his fellow scouts in Troop 40; and
WHEREAS, The son of Mike and Emily Herrmann, he is a senior at
St. Thomas Catholic High School, where he is active in the marching,
concert, and jazz bands, as well as various other school clubs and
projects; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Herrmann is a member of the South Main Baptist
Church youth group and choir, and he has participated in mission
trips to Washington, D.C., Alabama, and England with the
organization; and
WHEREAS, His dedication to excellence and perseverance in
pursuit of his goals have proven Eagle Scout Herrmann worthy to
stand among scouting's elite, and it is most appropriate that he be
honored at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Daniel Herrmann on attaining the rank of
Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Herrmann as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
