H.R. No. 1096
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dustin Wright Decker of Boy Scouts of America Troop
652 in Houston has completed the rigorous requirements and mastered
the many skills necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, and
this notable accomplishment indeed merits special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Decker began his participation in scouting in
the first grade as a member of Cub Scout Pack 644; he progressed
through Wolf, Bear, and Webelos levels, earning the Arrow of Light
Award; he has attended the Sam Houston Area Council Junior
Leadership Training Conference and served his fellow Boy Scouts in
various roles, including assistant patrol leader, patrol leader,
troop scribe, and assistant senior patrol leader; and
WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout project, Mr. Decker built a
sidewalk at the Spring Woods High School baseball field; in
addition, he earned an impressive total of 30 merit badges in his
quest to achieve this singular scouting honor; and
WHEREAS, The son of Devon and Teresa Decker, this industrious
young man is currently a sophomore at Spring Woods High School in
the Spring Branch Independent School District; talented both
academically and athletically, he participates in honors and
advanced placement classes, is ranked in the top 10 percent of his
class, and plays in the offensive guard position on his school's
football team; and
WHEREAS, The commitment that Dustin Wright Decker has
demonstrated to scouting, to his family, and to the community is an
inspiration to all who know him, and it is truly a pleasure to honor
him at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature congratulate Dustin Wright Decker on attaining the rank
of Eagle Scout and extend to him warmest best wishes for future
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Decker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
