H.R. No. 1107
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A great honor has deservedly been bestowed on
Shirley Warshaw of Houston with her selection to receive the
prestigious David H. White Memorial Award for 2003; and
WHEREAS, Named for the late Jewish Herald-Voice publisher and
humanitarian David H. White, the award recognizes an individual who
has demonstrated commitment to the ideals of Jewish life, service
reflecting the highest integrity, love of humanity, dedication to
the task, and a deep involvement in Jewish and general community
life; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Warshaw is indeed a fitting recipient of this
recognition, for these criteria aptly describe Ms. Warshaw's
dedication to improving the world around her; she has ably shared
her leadership with the Jewish National Fund and Anti-Defamation
League and has long participated in numerous arts and human
services organizations; and
WHEREAS, Following in the example set by David H. White,
Shirley Warshaw has worked tirelessly to better the lives of
others, and she remains an inspiration to all who are privileged to
know her; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Shirley Warshaw on winning the
David H. White Memorial Award and extend to her warmest best wishes
for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Warshaw as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
