H.R. No. 1111
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
recognize Daoen Zheng and Xiaoping Zheng on the occasion of their
visit to the State Capitol on May 9, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Zheng have traveled from their home in
Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, in the People's Republic of China to
attend the college graduation of their youngest child; Xiaozhen
Zheng will receive a bachelor of science degree in management
information systems with honors from The University of Texas at
Arlington on May 11, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Zheng lovingly encourage their children
to pursue their higher education, and they take great pride in all
three of their daughters for having received college degrees; their
youngest, Xiaozhen, is graduating with a 3.9 grade point average
and considering employment in the United States versus additional
studies in China; the couple's other children include San Francisco
resident Xiaojie Zheng, who received an art degree, and Xiaochun
Zheng, who earned an associate degree and works in the medical field
in China; and
WHEREAS, The college graduation of Xiaozhen Zheng is made all
the more memorable by the presence of her parents to share in her
special day, and it is a privilege to honor our esteemed
international visitors at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby welcome Daoen Zheng and Xiaoping Zheng to the
State Capitol and extend warmest best wishes to them for a memorable
visit to Austin and to Texas; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Zheng as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
