H.R. No. 1117


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Donald McClure of Flour Bluff on April 15, 2003, has brought great sorrow to the many friends and family of this esteemed gentleman; and WHEREAS, Mr. McClure strove to better conditions for towing businesses across the state; he used his knowledge and experience to advocate for the concerns and interests of his field of endeavor and to make sure that the needs of individuals and small businesses were addressed; and WHEREAS, The owner and president of Texas Auto Title and Registration Consultants, Inc., he was actively involved in numerous professional associations, including the Texas Towing and Storage Association, the Texas Police Association, the Texas Narcotic Officers Association, and the Texas Municipal League; and WHEREAS, He was killed while traveling home from a trip made in the service of the trade for which he worked so tirelessly; through his dedication, Donald McClure and his tenacious spirit made many important contributions to this state that will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby honor the life of Donald Harvey McClure and extend sincere sympathy to his family: to his wife, Cynthia McClure; to his son, Donald Lyman McClure; to his daughters, Mistik McClure, Courtney McClure, and Shelby Nicole McClure; to his mother, Alice Josephine "Jo" Butler; to his brothers, Frankie McClure and Arnold Butler; to his sisters, Sylvia Dolan, Joann Bell, Debra Davis, Lena Cunningham, and Tina Moffett; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Donald McClure.
