H.R. No. 1130
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to pay
tribute to Henry Schraub, who is being honored with a party on May
24, 2003, in recognition of his retirement as director of fine arts
for the Birdville Independent School District (ISD); and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schraub has led the district's fine arts program
for the past 27 years of his exemplary 42-year career in education;
previously, he taught band and choir students in the Seguin and
Bishop school districts and served as supervisor of music and
director of bands with the Weatherford ISD; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding educator is a graduate of The
University of Texas at Austin, from which he earned bachelor's and
master's degrees in music; and
WHEREAS, A devoted family man as well, he enjoys the love and
support of his wife, Lynda, their children, Gerick and Justin, and
their grandchildren, Abigail, Annabelle, and Austin; and
WHEREAS, Throughout a career devoted to the children of
Texas, Henry Schraub has adhered to the highest standards of
professionalism and integrity, and he has earned the admiration of
all who know him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize Henry Schraub on his May 30, 2003,
retirement as director of fine arts for the Birdville Independent
School District and extend to him warmest best wishes for a happy
and rewarding retirement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Schraub as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
