H.R. No. 1142



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Guillermo "Willie" Gandara has been appointed 
president of the Socorro Independent School District, and it is 
appropriate to honor him for his exemplary dedication to enhancing 
the education of Texas schoolchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Providing young citizens with a quality education is 
essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation, 
and public schools are the cornerstone of this crucial endeavor; 
and
	WHEREAS, Local school board members unite their efforts with 
those of parents, classroom teachers, and other education 
professionals to provide the best possible learning environment for 
area students; and
	WHEREAS, The individuals who serve on local school boards are 
fueled by an unwavering commitment to meeting students' current 
needs and to anticipating future challenges as well; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Gandara seeks to broaden the path of educational 
opportunity for students in his area, and he is indeed worthy of 
special recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Guillermo "Willie" Gandara on his 
appointment to the presidency of the Socorro Independent School 
District and extend to him sincere best wishes for future success; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Gandara as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
