H.R. No. 1149



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Laura Avalos of Fabens Primary School has deservedly 
been named Teacher of the Year for 2002-2003 by the Fabens 
Independent School District; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Avalos has been a bilingual second grade teacher 
for the last three years, and over the course of her distinguished 
tenure she has won the respect and admiration of teachers, 
students, and parents alike for her dedication to advancing 
bilingual education in Texas; in addition, she has served as a 
coordinator for the school's gifted and talented program; and
	WHEREAS, This outstanding educator inspires her students to 
excel, and because of her exceptional instruction, her pupils are 
firmly set on the path to a bright future; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Avalos exemplifies the best in her noble 
profession, and it is truly a privilege to recognize her at this 
time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Laura Avalos on her receipt of a 
2002-2003 Teacher of the Year award and extend to her sincere best 
wishes for success and happiness in the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Avalos as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
