R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Penny Jones of Fabens High School has deservedly 
been named Teacher of the Year for 2002-2003 by the Fabens 
Independent School District; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Jones has been a teacher at the school for the 
last 17 years, and over the course of her distinguished tenure, she 
has taught English, United States history, and world history and 
served as a department chairperson; in addition, she has been a UIL 
coordinator for the past eight years; and
	WHEREAS, This outstanding educator inspires her students to 
excel, and because of her exceptional instruction, her pupils are 
firmly set on the path to a bright future; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Jones exemplifies the best in her noble 
profession, and it is truly a privilege to recognize her at this 
time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Penny Jones on her receipt of a 
2002-2003 Teacher of the Year award and extend to her sincere best 
wishes for success and happiness in the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
