H.R. No. 1157



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Sylvia Gonzalez won election to the board of 
trustees of the Fabens Independent School District on May 3, 2003, 
and as she prepares to take office it is appropriate to honor her 
for her dedication to enhancing the education of Texas 
schoolchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Providing young citizens with a quality education is 
essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation, 
and public schools are the cornerstone of this crucial endeavor; 
and
	WHEREAS, Local school board members unite their efforts with 
those of parents, classroom teachers, and other education 
professionals to provide the best possible learning environment for 
area students; and
	WHEREAS, The individuals who serve on local school boards are 
fueled by an unwavering commitment to meeting students' current 
needs and to anticipating future challenges as well; and
	WHEREAS, Through her involvement, Ms. Gonzalez seeks to 
broaden the path of educational opportunity for students in her 
area, and she is indeed worthy of special recognition at this time; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Sylvia Gonzalez on her election to 
the board of trustees of the Fabens Independent School District and 
extend to her sincere best wishes for future success; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
