R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Lynn Stark on May 2, 2003, at the age of 47, has brought a profound sense of loss to the family and friends of this beloved Texan; and WHEREAS, An Ohio native, Mrs. Stark was born in Cleveland on March 9, 1956, and she graduated from Rocky River High School in 1974; shortly thereafter, she joined the United States Air Force and went on to become one of the nation's first female military air traffic controllers; and WHEREAS, Blessed with an effervescent personality and a keen sense of humor, Mrs. Stark moved to The Woodlands in 1978, and began a career as a real estate agent; her notable success in this field was credited, in large part, to her gregarious nature, which allowed her to make the experience of building, buying, or selling a home a truly enjoyable and memorable event for all involved; and WHEREAS, This charming woman positively affected the lives of countless Texans during her time on this earth, and while she will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of the many people whose lives she touched; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lynn Stark and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her devoted husband of nine years, Dr. Thomas Stark; to her children, Michael McDermott, Andrew McDermott, Mark McDermott, Chelsea Stark, and Alex Stark; to her parents, Robert and Shirley Alexander; to her siblings, Robert P. "Bobby" Alexander, David M. Alexander, Lee Ann Alexander, and Nancy Ann Alexander Smith; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lynn Stark.
