R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The tragic passing of Michelle Lynn Rothwell of Houston on May 3, 2003, at the age of 31, has brought a great loss to the many friends and relatives of this lovely young woman; and WHEREAS, A native Texan, she was born in Beaumont on October 20, 1971, and was blessed with a friendly, outgoing manner that earned her a host of friends throughout her lifetime; devoted to her husband, Scott, the couple shared a fulfilling and lasting union; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Rothwell's winning smile served her well as manager of Chandail Needleworks; with a passion for needlepoint design, this talented young woman established her own business, Doodles Boxes, which specialized in the design and construction of needlepoint boxes, and she took great pleasure in crafting gifts for her loved ones; and WHEREAS, Those who were close to Mrs. Rothwell could not help but be affected by her outgoing and energetic spirit; she treasured the antique shopping sprees she took with her grandmother throughout the small towns of East Texas and spent many happy hours dove hunting, gardening, and volunteering with the Pink Ribbons Project; and WHEREAS, Michelle Rothwell was a cherished member of her community whose presence brightened the lives of her family and friends; though she will be deeply mourned, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her during her years on this earth; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby honor the life of Michelle Lynn Rothwell and extend sincere sympathy to her family: to her husband, Scott B. Rothwell; to her father, Ted L. Roblow; to her sister, Denise Batschauer; to her brother, Brian K. Roblow; to her grandmother, Lola W. Bankston; and to her many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michelle Lynn Rothwell.
