R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A team of gifted students from Pine Tree High School 
recently achieved outstanding success by winning the University 
Interscholastic League (UIL) Academic State Championship in 
Conference 4A; and
	WHEREAS, The academic championship is an exciting 
competition that tests the knowledge of contestants in such 
demanding subject areas as computer science, literary criticism, 
math, science, spelling, current events, and debate and requires 
hours of diligent preparation and sharp minds for participants to 
excel; and
	WHEREAS, The Pine Tree team is under the leadership of James 
Stueart with notable assistance provided by Bonnie Edmund and Paula 
McKinney, and these coaches are to be commended for encouraging 
team members to do their very best in this rigorous match of 
intellectual skill; and
	WHEREAS, These outstanding students and educators have 
brought well-deserved recognition to their school and community 
with their triumph in scholastic competition, and their 
intelligence and determination indeed merit special legislative 
praise; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate the coaches and members of the Pine 
Tree High School academic team on their first-place finish in the 
UIL Academic State Championship; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
