R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Houstonian Michael Joseph "Mike" Lemming of Boy
Scouts of America Troop 354 has completed the rigorous objectives
necessary to achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, and this
notable accomplishment indeed merits special legislative
recognition; and
WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout project, Mr. Lemming created
laminated ID cards for the young children in the St. Michael's
Catholic Church parish, and each featured the child's photo and
fingerprints; and
WHEREAS, The 16-year-old Strake Jesuit Preparatory Academy
sophomore is a frequent honor roll student who participates as a
representative on the student council, devoted his time and talents
to the freshman retreat this past year, and has been chosen as a
retreat leader for the next school year; further, he plays in the
center position on his school's football team, earned a varsity
letter as a member of the wrestling squad, and is an avid drummer;
and
WHEREAS, He is the son of Jim and Sandi Lemming, who proudly
support him in all his scouting, school, and community activities;
and
WHEREAS, Mike Lemming is a role model for his fellow scouts
and for all young Texans, and he demonstrates the virtues of
integrity and commitment to his goals; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize Michael Joseph "Mike" Lemming for
attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him heartfelt best
wishes for success and fulfillment in the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Lemming as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
