R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Midlothian High School senior Laura Cross has claimed the state golfing title with an outstanding performance at the 2003 Conference 4A UIL State Championship in Austin; and WHEREAS, A third-place and second-place finisher in previous state tournaments, Miss Cross shot three under par for a two-day total of 139 at this year's competition; on the final day, she fired an impressive 71 to capture the state gold medal by a two-stroke margin; and WHEREAS, Miss Cross, a Southern Methodist University signee, is a source of tremendous pride to her family, school, and community; undoubtedly, her exceptional talent and strong work ethic will guide her toward many more successes in the future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Laura Cross on her victory in the UIL state competition in golf and extend to her warmest best wishes for continued good fortune and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Miss Cross as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
