H.R. No. 1195



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Union Grove High School Marching Band of 
Gladewater received top scores at this year's UIL competition, an 
accomplishment that marks the 10th consecutive year that the band 
has earned this distinction; and
	WHEREAS, This outstanding band performed under the skillful 
leadership of director Mark Melton and assistant director Rami 
Purdum; and
	WHEREAS, These committed and hardworking young Texans are a 
great source of pride for the students, staff, and faculty of Union 
Grove High School as well as the residents of Gladewater, and they 
are most deserving of praise and recognition at this time; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend the members of the Union Grove High 
School Marching Band and their instructors for their performance at 
this year's UIL competition and extend to them sincere best wishes 
for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
