R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Recently the National Junior Honor Society welcomed
to its ranks three exemplary students from Dunbar Middle School,
Jelani Lewis, Tiffany Lewis, and Walter Sanders; and
WHEREAS, The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a
worldwide organization that receives support from the National
Honor Society and the National Association of Secondary School
Principals; it was founded in 1929 to recognize the academic
achievements of outstanding middle-level students and to challenge
them to pursue active involvement in school activities and
community service; and
WHEREAS, At Dunbar Middle School, students who wish to
participate in the NJHS must maintain a 90 or above grade point
average and demonstrate exceptional leadership, service,
citizenship, and character traits; the three students selected for
membership this year, Walter Sanders, Jelani Lewis, and Tiffany
Lewis, are indeed stellar examples of these qualities, and their
efforts are an inspiration to all young Texans who seek to fulfill
their personal, academic, and professional dreams; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the newly inducted members of the Dunbar
Middle School National Junior Honor Society and extend to them
warmest best wishes for success in their future endeavors; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
for Tiffany Lewis, Walter Sanders, and Jelani Lewis as an
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
