R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Anthony Cobos was recently elected to his second term as El Paso city councilman for District 8, and his contributions to his community truly merit special legislative recognition; and WHEREAS, A democratic form of government depends on the informed participation of its people, and among the system's participants are those dedicated men and women who take on the role of public servant; and WHEREAS, The demands of public office are great; officials must continually balance the needs of their constituents with the best use of available resources, and few issues are easily resolved; and WHEREAS, In taking on the difficult challenge of public service, Anthony Cobos has joined the proud tradition of citizen leadership that has been our nation's trademark for more than two centuries, and he can take justifiable pride in the role he is playing in this noble legacy; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Anthony Cobos on winning his second term as a member of the El Paso City Council and extend to him best wishes for future success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Cobos as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
