H.R. No. 1238
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a
notable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Gayle and Jane Blacklock of Midland commemorated
that golden event in their marriage on April 3, 2003, when they
celebrated their five decades of mutual affection and devotion; and
WHEREAS, United in marriage on April 3, 1953, at the First
Methodist Church in Ranger, the couple have seen their relationship
grow in love and respect with each passing year; and
WHEREAS, The Blacklocks are blessed with three children, Dan,
Jan, and Jon, all of whom have benefited immeasurably from their
parents' unfailing love and guidance, and Mr. and Mrs. Blacklock
have also happily welcomed five beloved grandchildren into the
family fold; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Blacklock have
shared a union filled with many cherished times and joyful family
memories; their relationship is a source of inspiration to their
family and many friends, and it is a pleasure to join their loved
ones in honoring this fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Gayle and Jane Blacklock on their
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Blacklock as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
