H.R. No. 1239
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, G. M. "Corky" Rhea and Patsy Rhea of Midland marked a
milestone in their lives together when they celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on February 15, 2003, at Fairmont Park Church
of Christ; and
WHEREAS, United in matrimony on December 6, 1952, in Lone
Camp, Mr. and Mrs. Rhea have shared a loving union that has been
blessed with four children and six grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, The couple moved to Midland in 1966 after having
lived in Perryton as well as in several cities in eastern New Mexico
and West Texas; Mr. Rhea is retired from TRW Reda Pump, while Mrs.
Rhea is still employed as an office receptionist; and
WHEREAS, Valued members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. Rhea
are congregants of Fairmont Park Church of Christ; Mr. Rhea also
belongs to the National Indicator Fraternity and the Amateur
Softball Association Hall of Fame and is chaplain for the Sons of
Confederate Veterans; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, the Rheas have enjoyed an
enduring union filled with many happy times and cherished family
memories, and it is a privilege to honor them at this time; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate G. M. "Corky" Rhea and Patsy Rhea
on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to
them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rhea as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
