H.R. No. 1243



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Two longtime residents of Midland, Walter and 
Shirley O'Neal, have commemorated an important milestone in their 
lives, their 50th wedding anniversary, with a celebratory dinner 
and reception in Duncanville; and
	WHEREAS, Walter O'Neal and the former Shirley Scoggins 
exchanged their wedding vows on January 10, 1953, at a ceremony held 
in Olney; the couple made their home in Wichita Falls for three 
years before moving in 1956 to Midland, where they each pursued 
successful careers until their retirement; today Mrs. O'Neal 
remains a member of MUGS and the American Business Women 
Association, and both attend services at Kelview Heights Baptist 
Church; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal have enjoyed an enduring 
relationship that has grown in love and mutual respect with each 
passing year, and they are a source of tremendous inspiration to the 
many friends and relatives with whom they have shared the richness 
of their life together; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Walter and Shirley O'Neal on the 
joyous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to 
them warmest best wishes for many more years of happiness; and, be 
it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
