H.R. No. 1246
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sherrill and Marie Easley of Odessa recently
observed a special occasion in their marriage when they celebrated
their 60th wedding anniversary in the company of family and
friends; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Easley and the former Marie Hicks were united in
marriage on January 27, 1943, in Comanche; their enduring union has
since been blessed with three daughters, four grandchildren, and
three great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, In addition to celebrating 60 years of marriage, the
Easleys also recognized Mr. Easley's 80th birthday at the January
18 reception hosted by their daughters, Lana Westerfeldt, Kay
Shrader, and Patty Bee; and
WHEREAS, A successful businessman, Mr. Easley is the owner
and president of Desert Energy Equipment, Inc., which he founded in
1978 after completing his tenure as the district manager of Jones &
Laughlin Supply Company; and
WHEREAS, Odessa residents since 1963, Mr. and Mrs. Easley are
valued members of their community, and their strong and loving
union is an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to Sherrill and Marie Easley and
extend to them warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Easley as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
