R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for a
joyous celebration, and on March 2, 2003, Odessa residents Keith
and Nona Armstrong marked this memorable occasion with a reception
at their home; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Armstrong and the former Nona Fritts exchanged
their wedding vows on March 5, 1953, in Raton, New Mexico; over the
course of their enduring relationship, the couple have demonstrated
a deep love, trust, and admiration for each other, and they remain a
source of inspiration to their loved ones; and
WHEREAS, The Armstrongs have been blessed with four children,
Laura Elder, Barbara Boswell, Tami Bower, and the late Rinda
Armstrong, as well as five beloved grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong lived in Denver and Los
Angeles before moving to Odessa in 1962, where they are valued
congregants of the Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ; retired
business owners, the couple operated a restaurant and ice cream
shop in Odessa and a grocery and mobile home park in Midland; and
WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have shared the trials
and triumphs of five decades, and their love for one another
continues to gladden the hearts of their close-knit circle of
family and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Keith and Nona Armstrong on the
occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
