                                                                  H.R. No. 1248


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, S. V. and Faye Casey recently commemorated their 60th wedding anniversary with a special celebration hosted by their children in Horseshoe Bay; and WHEREAS, United in matrimony on March 13, 1943, at Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, Mr. and Mrs. Casey have been blessed with three children as well as a loving and supportive extended family; and WHEREAS, While Mr. Casey was serving his country as a B-17 pilot during World War II, his plane was shot down over enemy-occupied France, and he was listed as missing-in-action for three months; during that period, this courageous soldier crossed the Pyrenees Mountains on foot and escaped to freedom, no doubt carrying the thought of his worried bride deep in his heart throughout the perilous journey; and WHEREAS, After the war, Mr. Casey enjoyed a successful career with Mobil Oil Company, where he was employed until his retirement in 1976, while Mrs. Casey was employed with San Jacinto Junior High School and Lee High School for many years; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Casey are valued members of their community and have been devoted congregants of the First Christian Church since 1956; he also belongs to the Air Force Escape and Evasion Society and the Confederate Air Force; and WHEREAS, For 60 years, this loving couple have enjoyed an enduring union filled with many happy times and cherished family memories, and it is a privilege to honor them for all they have accomplished in their life together; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate S. V. and Faye Casey on the joyous occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Casey as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
