R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On April 4, 2003, Patricia and Marshall Middleton of 
Lubbock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, marking a golden 
milestone in their long and happy union; and
	WHEREAS, Joined in marriage on April 5, 1953, in Lamesa, Mr. 
Middleton and the former Patricia Blanton enjoy a warm and 
fulfilling relationship that is an inspiration to all who know 
them; and
	WHEREAS, The couple take great pride in their family, which 
includes two daughters, Lynn Hanson and Becca Brooks, and four 
grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Valued citizens of Lubbock since 1993, the 
Middletons moved there from Lamesa, where Mr. Middleton was the 
owner and operator of Middleton Oil Co. for a number of years; now 
leading an active semiretirement, the couple work for Lubbock 
Greater Service and Mr. Middleton also teaches on a part-time basis 
at an adult learning center; and
	WHEREAS, For five decades, Mr. and Mrs. Middleton have filled 
each other's lives with love, and their marriage has been enriched 
by cherished family memories and many joyful times; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Marshall and Patricia Middleton on 
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best 
wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Middleton as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
