R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, It is a pleasure to honor a rising star on the Texas music scene with the recognition of June 10, 2003, as Los Lonely Boys Day; and WHEREAS, The three Garza brothers who form Los Lonely Boys hail from San Angelo and belong to a family with a rich musical heritage; ever since their father and conjunto master, Ringo Garza, Sr., taught them to play instruments at a young age, they have continued the family tradition of making great music; and WHEREAS, With Henry on guitar, Jojo on bass, and Ringo on drums, the Los Lonely Boys make seamless music rife with pure energy, and they have brought their unique Texas sound to audiences across the Lone Star State and throughout the southeast; and WHEREAS, Los Lonely Boys have already caught the attention of numerous well-established Texas musicians, including Willie Nelson, who has lent his personal support and encouragement to the band, inviting them to play at his shows across Texas and to record at his Pedernales studio; and WHEREAS, June 10, 2003, is an auspicious day for Los Lonely Boys, for on this date they will unveil their first single, titled Real Emotions, to a nationwide audience; this pre-album release will lead up to the undoubtedly successful launch of their first album, which is coming soon; and WHEREAS, Los Lonely Boys possess that rare mixture of talent, determination, and style necessary for a successful musical career, and it is most appropriate to congratulate these exceptional musicians who stand on the threshold of a bright and rewarding future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby recognize June 10, 2003, as Los Lonely Boys Day and extend to the band best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Los Lonely Boys as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
