R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Distinguished speaker, author, and magician Jim 
Gentil has positively influenced the lives of people around the 
world; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Gentil has taught school for 14 years, sold 
insurance and Tupperware, owned a pizza parlor, and worked for 25 
years with Dow Chemical Company, yet it was his introduction to Earl 
Nightengale's The Strangest Secret which has led him to become a 
prominent figure in the field of positive thinking; and
	WHEREAS, Publishing his first book, The Sixty Second System 
of Success, in 1979, Mr. Gentil has gone on to become a noted 
writer, motivational speaker, and magician; in January 1998, he 
began publishing a weekly newsletter titled Positive People Power! 
Newsletter, which has garnered readers from across the United 
States and 30 different countries; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Gentil is known by many as "Mr. Positive," and he 
is most deserving of special recognition for helping others to find 
the bright side of life and to achieve remarkable feats in their own 
lives; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor Jim Gentil for his professional success 
and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, 
be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Gentil as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
