R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The passing of George Wilmot Karp of Galveston on 
May 4, 2003, at the age of 77, brought a great loss to the family and 
friends of this fine gentleman; and
	WHEREAS, A longtime political activist, Mr. Karp devoted more 
than 25 years to supporting the Democratic Party in Galveston as a 
volunteer and active campaigner; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Karp and his wife, Linda, took to the highways in 
1995 as full-time RV'ers, traveling the nation together and 
witnessing the wonders of our great country; and
	WHEREAS, Each spring and fall during election years, this 
dedicated couple returned to Galveston to cast their votes and to 
volunteer their time and energy in support of candidates; and
	WHEREAS, A man of great wit and humor, George Karp enjoyed 
life to the fullest, and his memory will surely live on in the 
hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be 
it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of George Wilmot Karp and 
extend sincere sympathy to his wife, Linda, and to the other 
relatives and friends of this beloved gentleman; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for his wife, and that when the Texas House of 
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of George 
Wilmot Karp.
