R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of East El Paso is a service fellowship organized to meet needs, raise funds, build communities, help kids, advance morals, and enhance lives; and WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Larry Trejo, president, Marcia Gamino, vice president, Rose Basoco, secretary/treasurer, and Bob Henderson, co-treasurer, the organization is supporting a number of worthy programs; and WHEREAS, Among these initiatives are the Bringing Up Grades at School program at Mission Valley Middle School and the Terrific Kids program at Hacienda Heights Elementary School, sponsorship of a KEY-Club at Bel Air High School, an annual scholarship program, and Drive-a-Meal for senior citizens; and WHEREAS, The members of the Kiwanis Club of East El Paso have labored tirelessly to create a brighter future for the residents of their area, and it is indeed appropriate that they receive special legislative recognition for their actions; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend the officers and members of the Kiwanis Club of East El Paso on their notable contributions to their community and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Kiwanis Club as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
