H.R. No. 1288
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A special talent from the Rio Grande Valley was
thrust into the spotlight when the Academy of Country Music
selected Weslaco radio personality Jo-Jo Cerda as one of the top
five radio personalities in the country; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Cerda is the program director and cohost of the
morning show Jo-Jo and the Patchman on K-TEX 100.3 FM; a trusted
provider of quality programming and entertainment, Mr. Cerda is a
local treasure whose engaging radio presence is welcomed into the
homes of countless South Texans; and
WHEREAS, Traveling to Las Vegas to attend the awards show,
Mr. Cerda will represent the Rio Grande Valley in fine fashion and
garner national exposure for this noteworthy part of Texas; this
achievement is a well-deserved honor for Mr. Cerda and a source of
tremendous pride for his fellow South Texans; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jo-Jo Cerda on his nomination by
the Academy of Country Music as one of the top five radio
personalities in the country and extend to him warmest best wishes
for future success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Cerda as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
