R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Garza Tienda de Segunda in Pharr is celebrating 
its 35th anniversary in 2003, marking a truly notable milestone in 
the history of this unique business; and
	WHEREAS, Proof that one person's throwaway is another's 
treasure, the store offers an overwhelming variety of used goods to 
bargain-hunting shoppers, including all manner of clothing items, 
lampshades, candlesticks, dishes, and 8-track tapes; and
	WHEREAS, By far the most impressive display items at the 
store are its thousands of automobile hubcaps, which can be found on 
shelves, hanging from the rafters, and adorning the fencing outside 
the building; and
	WHEREAS, This exceptional enterprise's longevity is a 
tribute to the hard work of its owners, Nemencia and Genaro Garza, 
as well as the loyalty of its many satisfied patrons, and it is 
appropriate that the Garza Tienda de Segunda be honored at this 
time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Garza on the 35th 
anniversary of the Garza Tienda de Segunda and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for future success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for prominent display at the Garza Tienda de Segunda as an 
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
