H.R. No. 1293



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Rosalinda Diaz, principal of Clover Elementary 
School, has been recognized with the prestigious Betty Scharff 
Memorial Award from the Help One Student To Succeed (HOSTS) 
Learning program; and
	WHEREAS, A tribute to codeveloper and longtime child educator 
Betty Scharff, this special award is the highest honor given by 
HOSTS Learning, which is a leading provider of research-based 
learning systems in reading and mathematics for grades kindergarten 
through 12; and
	WHEREAS, The Betty Scharff Memorial Awards are granted each 
year at the HOSTS Conference to organizations and individuals who 
have made outstanding contributions to the educational welfare of 
children in HOSTS language arts, math, and Spanish; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Diaz was recognized as the Building 
Administrator of the Year for her tireless efforts in the HOSTS 
Learning program at Clover Elementary School; principal at the 
school for the past 12 years, she has strongly supported efforts to 
recruit and maintain volunteers for the HOSTS mentoring program; 
and
	WHEREAS, Respected as a leader and cherished as a friend, Ms. 
Diaz has a long track record of making Clover Elementary School an 
outstanding learning environment and helping the students achieve 
academic excellence; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Principal Rosalinda Diaz for 
receiving the Betty Scharff Memorial Award presented by the HOSTS 
Learning program and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, 
be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Diaz as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
