H.R. No. 1313
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Morris A. Stribling, a San Antonio physician and
prominent business leader, has contributed greatly to the economic
well-being of his South Central Texas community; and
WHEREAS, In 1996, Dr. Stribling founded the Black Business
Expo of San Antonio, Inc., wishing to bring together local African
American business owners; since its inception, the Black Business
Expo has helped to promote hundreds of African American owned
businesses; and
WHEREAS, This accomplished gentleman created the African
American Leadership Institute, a program that develops African
American leaders in the community, and the African American
Construction Alliance, which assists African American contractors
in collaborating on major construction contracts; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his innumerable business
contributions, Dr. Stribling is a husband and the father of three
children and also lends his talents to the Antioch Baptist Church,
where he serves as a deacon and Sunday school teacher; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Stribling is a man of enormous ability and
integrity, a valued asset to San Antonio's business community, and
a source of inspiration to all who are privileged to know him; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Dr. Morris A. Stribling for his
exceptional service to his community and extend to him sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Stribling as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
