H.R. No. 1345
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Leon A. Willhite of Waco is retiring as executive
director of the Heart of Texas Council of Governments; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Willhite has an impressive resume, which
includes past leadership roles in the Texas governor's office and
with the Texas State Property Tax Board; in addition, he has worked
tirelessly within his community, generously offering his time and
expertise to local civic and business organizations, such as the
Business Resource Center, Downtown Waco, Inc., the Rotary Club, and
the United Way; and
WHEREAS, For the past 11 years, while employed with the Heart
of Texas Council of Governments, Mr. Willhite has demonstrated the
highest qualities of integrity, dedication, and leadership; he will
be greatly missed by his colleagues, and the contributions he has
made through his leadership at the council will not soon be
forgotten; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Leon A. Willhite on his retirement
and extend to him best wishes for a future filled with much success
and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Willhite as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
