R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Ashley Cynara Mitchell has been named Laredo's Youth 
of the Year for her exemplary efforts in the classroom and in her 
community; and
	WHEREAS, Selected from among those students honored as Youth 
of the Month during the 2002-2003 school year, Miss Mitchell has 
demonstrated excellence in academics, extracurricular activities, 
and community service, and she has also pledged to remain 
drug-free; and
	WHEREAS, A senior at United High School, this vivacious teen 
possesses an effervescent smile and a positive attitude that make 
her a joy to be around, and her warmth, maturity, and humility will 
undoubtedly help to take her far in the world; and
	WHEREAS, Sponsored by the United States Border Patrol and 
Senator Judith Zaffirini, Laredo's Youth of the Year program 
encourages students to excel in all their endeavors, and Ashley 
Mitchell is truly an apt recipient of this prestigious honor; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Ashley Cynara Mitchell for being 
named Laredo's Youth of the Year for the 2002-2003 school year and 
extend sincere best wishes to her for continued success and 
happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Miss Mitchell as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
