R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Kevin Doskocil of Abbott High School won the Class
1A University Interscholastic League (UIL) state golf title at the
May 5-6, 2003, tournament, held at Morris Williams Golf Course in
Austin; and
WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Ray and Karen Doskocil,
this admirable young Texan earned the state crown by firing off
scores of 73 and 75 and posting the fifth lowest two-day total in
Class 1A history; and
WHEREAS, On the triumphant final day of the tournament, Mr.
Doskocil, a sophomore, became the first student from Abbott High
School and Hill County to win the coveted state title in golf;
throughout his training, he practiced relentlessly and received
outstanding instruction from Coach Terry Crawford; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Doskocil has distinguished himself as a golfer
of superior ability, and he is a source of tremendous pride to the
faculty, staff, and students at Abbott High School and to all his
supporters in the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Kevin Doskocil on winning the Class
1A UIL state title in golf and extend to him warmest best wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Doskocil as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
