R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The senior class of Rylie Academy is graduating on May 24, 2003, marking the completion of a 12-year commitment to academics that has earned each student a high school diploma and, even more importantly, has opened the door to still greater success in the decades yet to come; and WHEREAS, Established in 1998, the Rylie Academy strives to create a positive growth and learning experience for the children of southeast Dallas in a safe, caring, and consistently structured environment; the school seeks to combine a challenging academic program with elective and extracurricular activities that promote athletic, musical, intellectual, artistic, and vocational development, thereby providing a well-rounded education for each student regardless of ability level or background; and WHEREAS, The school of choice for about 800 North Texas students, Rylie Academy offers advanced placement classes, special needs programs, English as a second language workshops, tutoring sessions, parental education courses, and computer and reading lab lessons; and WHEREAS, This year's seniors include Gloria Alonso, David Paul Baur, Michael Anthony Benavidez, Allison Grace Brimelow, Elizabeth Jean Chittim, Stephen Ryan Clinton, Clint Lee Crockett, Gabriela Garcia, Cory Howard Garrett, Joanna Gracia, Seth Ryan Kirkpatrick, Brandy Lee Knight, Antonia Maldonado, Jared S. McCoy, Samantha Renea Moore, Lacy Nicole Oldham, Aaron Dean Phares, Kentrail L. Robertson, Christopher Ross Talamantez, Estefania S. Tellez, Demetria Quenette Trigg, and John Alan Young; and WHEREAS, These noteworthy young Texans have worked hard and have demonstrated a commendable determination to succeed, and they merit hearty congratulations as they embark on the next chapter in their lives; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby recognize the Rylie Academy graduates of 2003 for their many academic, artistic, athletic, and vocational accomplishments; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Rylie Academy's Class of 2003 as an expression of best wishes by the Texas House of Representatives.
