H.R. No. 1411
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Through hard work and determination, Fernando Garza
has achieved excellence in his academic work, and his myriad
accomplishments are a source of great pride to his close-knit
circle of family and friends; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from Clear Creek High School, where
he played baseball and also earned the school's "Mr. Hustle" award,
Mr. Garza attended Laredo Community College on a baseball
scholarship; during his junior college education, he made the
Dean's List and received the prestigious President's Award; and
WHEREAS, He continued his successful course of learning at
Texas Bible College (TBC) in Columbus; in addition to his place on
the Board of Regents List, his honors included the Mr. TBC award,
the title of Mr. Agape, and selection as a resident assistant on
campus; after his first year, Mr. Garza earned a diploma of
Christian Life Studies, and on May 10, 2003, he graduated as
salutatorian with a diploma for the Leadership Training Course and
a diploma of the School of Ministry for exemplifying the qualities
and potential of a godly leader; and
WHEREAS, Accepted to attend Texas A&M University in the fall
of 2003, Mr. Garza plans to study economics and political science;
demonstrating admirable dedication to his education, Mr. Garza has
built a solid foundation for himself and set a notable example that
is sure to have a positive influence on all who know him; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Fernando Garza on his academic
achievements and extend to him best wishes for continued success
and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
