R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Three outstanding Houston-area government agencies
have been honored by The Park People, Inc., with the 2003
Partnership Award for the agencies' efforts to create the Willow
Waterhole Greenway project in the Brays Bayou watershed; and
WHEREAS, The Houston Parks and Recreation Department, the
Harris County Flood Control District, and the Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department have received this accolade in recognition of
their effective partnership in creating additional park land while
providing much-needed storm water retention facilities; and
WHEREAS, The Park People, Inc., is a nonprofit citizen's
organization working to preserve, enhance, and increase parks and
green space in the Houston area; and
WHEREAS, Promising to be a model of economy, innovation, and
governmental cooperation, the project will be of lasting benefit to
the Houston community, and the exemplary work of these agencies is
most deserving of legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Houston Parks and Recreation
Department, the Harris County Flood Control District, and the Texas
Parks and Wildlife Department on the receipt of the 2003
Partnership Award for the Willow Waterhole Greenway project and
extend to all those associated with this project best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for each agency as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
