H.R. No. 1431
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Grace Villarreal of San Antonio is retiring as a
library assistant at Mildred Baskin Elementary School after 19
years of dedicated service to our state's young people; and
WHEREAS, A San Antonio native, Mrs. Villarreal is recognized
by her peers as a professional who goes that extra mile to encourage
students to read and to ensure that they have a positive and
productive experience in the library; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Villarreal is a graduate of Fox Tech High
School, and she has enjoyed a 39-year marriage to her beloved
husband, Santos S. Villarreal; together they have been blessed with
two children, Veronica V. Garza and Santos H. Villarreal, and two
grandchildren, Andres and Omar Garza; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable Texan will now have plenty of time
to spend with her grandchildren and to pursue her many hobbies and
volunteer activities, and it is a pleasure to extend to her best
wishes for an enjoyable and well-deserved retirement; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th
Texas Legislature hereby commend Grace Villarreal for her many
years of service to the students of Mildred Baskin Elementary
School and congratulate her on the occasion of her retirement; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Villarreal as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
