H.R. No. 1445
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Media Joyce Smith has been recognized as an
exemplary educator with her selection as Duncanville Independent
School District secondary school teacher of the year for 2003; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her distinguished 33 years in education,
Ms. Smith has taught kindergarten, first and third grades, and
grades 7 through 12 in Austin, Killeen, Fort Hood, and Dallas; she
has spent 10 years with Duncanville ISD, and she was honored on May
12, 2003, at the district's employee banquet in Dallas on the basis
of her teaching ability, interaction with others, and willingness
to go beyond the call of duty for her students; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable educator has touched the lives of
countless young Texans through her sterling service, and her
dedication and hard work will be of lasting benefit to her community
and this state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Media Joyce Smith on being named
Duncanville ISD's secondary teacher of the year for 2003 and extend
to her best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Smith as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
