R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Pamela Ann McPeters, chief of staff for the Honorable Dawnna Dukes, is a skilled and conscientious employee of the Texas House of Representatives; and WHEREAS, Each day of her employment, Ms. McPeters willingly makes the extensive commitment required of legislative employees, and while this involvement at times can prove demanding, it continues to produce meaningful work and has led to some lasting new friendships; and WHEREAS, Beginning her state service during the 77th Legislative Session, Ms. McPeters was working for the House Public Education Committee when she made the acquaintance of Phillip Travis Golden, who was serving as legal counsel for the House State Affairs Committee; and WHEREAS, Drawn together by an abiding interest in Texas politics, the couple had their first date on March 8, 2001, and their relationship has since deepened into one of mutual respect, understanding, admiration, and love; and WHEREAS, Mr. Golden has come to recognize how fortunate he is to have met Ms. McPeters: he admires her for her beauty, both inside and out, and he realizes that he can't envision a future without her by his side; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby officially deliver the marriage proposal of Phillip Travis Golden, who humbly awaits the answer of his beloved, Pamela Ann McPeters, to the question of whether she will marry him and agree to become his lawfully wedded wife.
