H.R. No. 1467



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Denton High School Lady Broncos soccer team has 
captured the 2003 UIL State Class 4A girls soccer championship, and 
this outstanding achievement is most worthy of recognition; and
	WHEREAS, The Lady Broncos defeated Lake Travis High School 
2-1 in the championship game and concluded their season with an 
excellent 28-2 record; and
	WHEREAS, Led by Coach Iseed Khoury, the team demonstrated 
championship-caliber play throughout the playoffs, with exciting 
wins over outstanding teams from Wichita Falls, Hebron, and 
Highland Park high schools; and
	WHEREAS, Team members include Erika Anderson, Anna Barrera, 
Bente Bekkhus, Erin Cadenhead, Katherine Clark, Peyton Coker, 
Jennifer Dower, Valerie Dunn, Ashley Gulrich, Natalie Harrison, 
Ashley Hornisher, Christine Hornisher, Jacqueline Horner, Callie 
Lawing, Callye Lawrence, Annie Lowe, Sara Montenajo, Julie Naugher, 
Mia Nilsson, Ezinne Okpo, Julia Plangman, Jennifer Regenald, 
Candyce Romero, Theresa Sanches, Lisa Stephens, and Ashlee Wilson; 
and
	WHEREAS, These notable student athletes have earned the right 
to call themselves champions, and the memory of this season and 
their many accomplishments will undoubtedly remain with them 
always; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate the Denton High School Lady Broncos 
soccer team for winning the 2003 UIL State Class 4A Championship and 
extend best wishes for continued success to the coaches and players 
of this commendable team; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
