R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary is truly cause for a
celebration, and on May 29, 2003, Kenneth Reed Wood and Lucille
Padmore Wood of Houston are marking this momentous occasion in
their marriage; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Wood are both natives of Brooklyn, New
York, and though they lived only about 10 blocks apart, they did not
meet until they each moved with their families to Westfield, New
Jersey; and
WHEREAS, Since exchanging their wedding vows in 1943, Mr. and
Mrs. Wood have shared a close and fulfilling relationship that has
been made even richer through the expansion of their family, which
includes three children, Judith Lenox, Diane Wood, and Bob Wood, as
well as six grandchildren, Ann Kellams, Elizabeth Freeman, Thomas
Lenox, Katy Hutchinson, David Hutchinson, and Jane Hutchinson, and
four great-grandchildren, Lydia Kellams, Matthew Freeman, Lauren
Lenox, and Stella Kellams; and
WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have shared the trials
and triumphs of 60 years, and their commitment to each other
gladdens the hearts of their close-knit circle of family and
friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Kenneth and Lucille Wood on the
joyous occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to
them warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Wood as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
