R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Amanda Paredes, Natalie Lekkas, and Patrick 
Carrillo of the Socorro Independent School District, and their 
sponsors Raquel Gomez and Norma P. Ayala, have earned national 
distinction in Business Professionals of America competition; and
	WHEREAS, Advancing successfully through regional and state 
competition, Ms. Paredes in basic office systems and procedures, 
Ms. Lekkas in fundamental word processing, and Mr. Carillo in legal 
office procedures, the group reached the elite level of national 
finals competition, where Ms. Lekkas and Mr. Carillo won national 
championships in their respective categories; and
	WHEREAS, Sponsors Raquel Gomez and Norma P. Ayala worked 
tirelessly to prepare the students for the rigors of national 
competition, inspiring them to perform at the peak of their 
abilities; and
	WHEREAS, By mastering their respective office skills, these 
dedicated young Texans have taken a significant step in assuring 
that they will be successful members of the workforce, and it is 
indeed appropriate that they be honored for their efforts at this 
time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate students Amanda Paredes, Natalie 
Lekkas, and Patrick Carrillo and sponsors Raquel Gomez and Norma P. 
Ayala on their noteworthy achievements at the regional, state, and 
national levels in Business Professionals of America competition 
and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, 
be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the students and sponsors from the Socorro ISD as an 
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
