R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Robert and Mildred Burkett of Midland celebrated 
their 65th wedding anniversary on May 6, 2003, marking a momentous 
event in their long and happy union; and
	WHEREAS, United in matrimony on May 6, 1938, in Guthrie, 
Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Burkett have built an enduring marriage that 
has been blessed with three children, Mike Burkett, Richard 
Burkett, and Linda Whitaker, as well as six grandchildren and six 
great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Burkett have been valued members of the 
Midland community since 1950, and they share their faith together 
attending services at the community's First Baptist Church; and
	WHEREAS, This devoted couple have nurtured a strong bond of 
love for 65 years, filling each other's lives with many joyful times 
and cherished family memories, and it is a privilege to recognize 
all they have accomplished in their life together; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Mildred Burkett on the 
occasion of their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them best 
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Burkett as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
